Scott Baker

Scott Baker is one of Sydney's fastest rising star DJs, & his regular flow of gigs continues on this year. He has been mixing for just over 6 years & in that time has covered a wide range of styles. Today you can hear him playing anything from a tougher funky house & progressive, onto trance and techno.

In mid 2002 at the tender age of 18, Scott scored first place in the inaugural Plastic DJ Competition, after several rounds of live sets against some top shelf competition. Scott's fusion of different elements delivers a set that's both fun and intelligent, whilst playing constantly to the crowd rather than for self-indulgence.

In August 2002, Scott Baker was also voted by the users of Australia's largest dance website, inthemix, as being an up'n'comer the masses wanted playing at their parties. What better endorsement could there be? Big Clubber @ Sounds on Sunday's capacity crowd were certainly loving it and Scott's smooth blend of tech trance went down brilliantly. Scott was again voted in by the clubbing public to play at 'Big Clubber 2' down at Sounds early in February 2003.

From May until August 2003 Scott held a residency down at Plastic, which was held up at Tantra Nightclub every Friday. He was playing alongside DJs Nervous, John Ferris, Bexta, Mark Owens & Pete Heery.

2003 brought about Scott's busiest year to date with gigs which included Sunset Project u/18's at Home Nightclub, Thursday Delights at Icebox, Transmission - Live, Liberty & H20 at The Dendy, Plastic at Tantra, Monkey Tennis, Good Friday's at World Bar, Licorice at Silva, Utopia:EMF at Glenworth Valley, Godskitchen at Space and various underground events such as Reason, Flashback & Muzikal Kloudz.

From August 2003 until October 2004 Scott held two different dance music shows on Sydney's FBi 94.5FM hosted alongside Simon Bell featuring a wide range of local artists and cover all styles.

Both a regular on both the decks and the dance floor, Sydney is presenting some great opportunities in dance music. And with Scott doing more gigs with the Transmission team, Plastic, Utopia, Godskitchen, Sunset Project u/18's at Home Nightclub, Monkey Tennis at Candy's Apartment & underground parties with Muzikal Kloudz, Reason & Team Imperial, you can rest assured there's plenty more to be heard!
